At Mediterranean Homes Coín, community care goes hand in hand with property. That’s why we are proud to support the inspirational Save a Life (S.A.L.) project Calahonda, led by Gerry and Jenny Hannam in Mijas Costa, Costa del Sol.

Gerry, a cardiac arrest survivor in Spain, knows first-hand the importance of fast access to defibrillators. His family’s mission is to install more community defibrillators in Calahonda so that no resident or visitor is ever left without urgent help in those crucial first minutes.

How the Save a Life Project Began

The project has a special link to Mediterranean Homes. Gerry first contacted us after hearing about our own Touch of Kindness defibrillator campaign, which has placed AEDs in Costa del Sol communities from Coín to Calahonda. Inspired by this, he and his family launched Save a Life Calahonda, determined to make their neighbourhood safer.

Fundraiser in Calahonda – September 2025

The Hannam family’s first charity fundraiser in Calahonda is already making headlines in local media such as Euro Weekly News.

The goal: raise enough money to purchase three new defibrillators in Calahonda. These AEDs will be placed in key local areas, giving immediate access to anyone in need and potentially saving countless lives across the Costa del Sol.

How to Support the Fundraiser

Even if you cannot attend in person, you can support this Costa del Sol charity event online.

Every euro raised goes directly towards defibrillators in Calahonda, Mijas Costa – ensuring the devices are purchased, installed, and maintained for the benefit of local residents and visitors alike.

Mediterranean Homes – Proud to Support Local Causes

From our base in Coín, Kelly and the Mediterranean Homes team are committed to supporting community health projects in Costa del Sol like this. We’ve seen through our Touch of Kindness AED campaign how vital these devices are – and we will continue to advise and promote Gerry’s mission wherever possible.

The Save a Life Calahonda project is proof that when neighbours come together, they can make a real difference. This isn’t just about defibrillators; it’s about building safer, stronger, and more connected communities on the Costa del Sol.
